Shanbay is an awesome application for learning English.
Listening
I read an article on Zhihu yesterday:《How to use Shanbay effectively?》. It gave me much inspiration. So I decided to practice my listening with Shanbay.
This morning, I tested what my listening level was through the article practice section in Shanbay. I found that I can easily understand the English listening comprehension of the college entrance examination, but the CET4 was really a challenge for me. It was faster and harder than the former. So the most suitable materials for me are CET4.
I decide to learn about 900 sentences. Assume that each sentence cost 1 minute, if I spend 30 minutes a day, I can finish it in one month. The duration is a bit long, maybe I will speed it on weekends.
Considering the inconvenience of input on the mobile, I should use PC to study. It will make me more effective.
Reading
Shanbay’s reading section is also very nice. It marks the words you are learning at present so that you can review them during the reading. Learning and practicing make you remember well.
Maybe I should print the articles which I have read, then review them in the latter time in order to deepen my memories.
About data visualization
One can run fast, but a group can walk further.
Data visualization is a technique-driven field. We should develop the principles and components, then push them to the product managers to improve our products.
I decide to require every one of our team members to give at least one idea each month. When we have more ideas, we will be more creative.
About learning front-end skills
Master the most important 20 percent knowledge of a skill to create 80 percent functions at the least cost.
I think there are three most important skills which I must master: English, IT, finance.
Mastering them will be my long term goals in the future.
